We cannot just deny the fact that somewhere or the other at any point in time and whether we are aware or not, we are all customers.
Whether you are a business owner, employee, employer, boss, management, trader, leader, follower, seller, buyer, doctor, patient, teacher, student, passenger, politician, sportsman, actor, dancer, musician, or anyone and everyone from all walks of life in any profession and belonging to whether the rich class, poor class or the middle class and irrespective of religion, class or creed you cannot escape being a customer.
Why?
Because we are all human beings having our own needs, desires, expectations, wishes, goals, purpose, mission, vision, and problems.
So, to satisfy, meet and solve them we need help, collaboration, and partnerships of other human beings as we cannot satisfy, meet and solve them all by our own selves in isolation.
There is always a market that emerges for our own unique needs, desires, expectations, wishes, goals, purpose, mission, vision, and problems where we need to exchange the value, products, and services offered by other human beings by paying money to them.
What Qualifies You To Be A Customer?
If you have the ability, means, and a source to pay money to a business or another human being to meet your needs, fulfill your desires or solve your problems then you qualify to be a customer.
And, if you repeatedly keep on satisfying your needs, solving your problems, or fulfilling your desires and goals from a business or another human being by paying money to them each time then you become a client to that business or the human being.
Now, there is nothing wrong to pay money and become a customer or a client to a business or another human being because we all know that there is nothing free in this world.
On the contrary, I think it is much better to pay money and become a customer or a client to an individual or a business rather than take favors and help from other people free of cost as somewhere down the line you may need to return that favor or help received which I feel is far more a complicated process as compared to the straightforward deal of paying money to solve all your problems and fulfilling and meeting your needs and desires.
Good Customer v/s Bad Customer
Once you qualify to be a customer what does it really mean by saying if you are a good customer or a bad customer?
Let’s analyze this now.
If you as a human being have a mindset of only consuming things by buying consumable items and services then you as a consumer will become a bad customer.
That means you buy things mainly on impulse to satisfy your pleasures and lust and want instant gratification.
Some of the examples of being a bad customer are paying your money to buy things like television, music system, fast food, drinks, tobacco, entertainment, cosmetics, fashion, concerts and shows, and all kinds of doodads, etc.
Again, there is nothing wrong with being a bad customer if you are able to afford them but at the same time, they will not make you rich and wealthy.
They are consumed and so the money that you pay as a customer to buy such things is also consumed and will not return back to you.
On the other hand, the mindset of a good customer is to produce, create, build and contribute and to create an impact on society, the economy, the business, and the community.
For example, if you as a customer is paying money to a business or an individual to learn something, then you qualify to become a good customer.
This can mean learning a new skill or acquiring knowledge or know how to do some task. This will definitely pay off, in the long run, to make you rich and wealthy.
Other examples of being a good customer are like buying businesses, real estate, bank deposits, investments in all kinds of financial markets, investments in other businesses, education and training, a library of books, etc. which all can make you rich and wealthy.
If you are a customer of a school, college, university, or any other professional education institution as a student then you are a good customer as this can help you become rich and wealthy.
They are directly related to your career, employment, vocation, or business from where you can earn your living in the long run.
If you are a customer of a bank, again this comes under the category of a good customer as you can earn money through interest income.
If you buy houses or real estate as a customer you can earn money as rental income which can make you rich and wealthy by being a good customer.
If you are a customer in the stock market then also you are a good customer as this will allow you to earn profits and dividends that can make you rich and wealthy.
If you are a customer where you are making any kind of financial investments in other businesses for which you have knowledge, training, experience, and understanding of those investments then again you become a good customer as this can lead to favorable monetary returns for you, in the long run, thus making you rich and wealthy.
However, in certain instances, you qualify neither as a good customer nor as a bad customer where you pay money as a customer to solve some problem or to get relief from pain, which are absolutely essential in nature and you just cannot avoid buying them.
Examples of becoming such a customer are like paying money to buy food, clothing, vehicle, and shelter, paying money to a hospital or a doctor for medical treatment, and for buying medicines as a patient, being a customer to the government in the form of paying all kinds of taxes, or paying money to book a bus, taxi, rail, or airline ticket.
They are all essential items to buy but may not directly be related to becoming rich and wealthy.
So, your endeavor should always be to become more and more a good customer and less and less a bad customer because becoming a good customer by habit and choice will surely be a path for you to become rich and wealthy in life.
